Connie Hamilton has served many roles in over two decades as an educator. She has been an elementary and middle school teacher and instructional coach. As an administrator, Connie held positions as a principal at both the elementary and secondary levels and a central office curriculum leader. Her experience in these positions fueled a passion for supporting high-quality instruction.
Connie has partnered with nearly one thousand teachers to offer job-embedded professional learning. She leads cohorts of educators through Collaboration and Instructional Feedback Teams (CIFTs) where they observe one another and collectively offer feedback for growth in an authentic collaborative coaching experience. Connie offers a true individualized approach to learning by offering feedback specific to each teacher’s classroom, students, and curriculum. These cohort members routinely describe the process with Connie’s CIFTs as the most beneficial professional learning they’ve ever experienced.
Engaging, thought-provoking and useful are words used by participants in Connie’ workshops She provides actionable tips that even the most seasoned teachers find fresh and new. She understands that teachers benefit from modeled practices they are learning. So, Connie practices what she preaches by offering high-quality learning experiences that are engaging and practical. Educators leave motivated to put their new learning into practice tomorrow. Her keynotes inspire audiences to rethink their views on instruction and bring life and meaning to research-based methods.
Administrators become better instructional leaders after working with Connie. Her experience at all levels of schools gives her a deep understanding of the complexities of a school leader’s responsibilities. She believes the most important role leaders have is to provide a safe environment where learning flourishes. This can only occur if leaders are champions of teachers’ work and are able to ask the right questions, make the necessary connections and create systems that are designed for continuous growth.
