Dr. Bobbie Jo Lewis is the Coordinator of Educator Development in the Office of
Educator Quality, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. She has
worked in the field of education for over 23 years. Her roles include teacher,
building administrator, adjunct faculty for universities with education programs,
and her current work at the state level. Dr. Lewis is the Grant Administrator for
Teacher Recruitment and Retention Grants including Grow Your Own (ESSER
funded) and Grow Your Own (State funded). She works with districts around the
state to help them refine their grant strategies and develop their GYO programs.
Dr. Lewis is also the Coordinator for Missouri Teacher Development System which
has a variety of professional learning opportunities for educators at any level of
the profession. She serves on several committees and boards to help address
teacher shortage issues thru the implementation of several state-wide initiatives
and other teacher related issues. Dr. Lewis earned her BS in Elementary Education
from Drury University, her Master’s in Administration from Missouri Baptist
University, and her doctorate degree at Missouri Baptist University in the fall of
2014. Dr. Lewis is passionate about ensuring the students of Missouri receive the
best education possible.
